In brief
  • 510,000 copies of Mortal Shell II sold in the first week.
  • Revenue exceeded 23 million US dollars.
  • 57.6% of sales were on PC, 33.8% on PlayStation 5, and 8.6% on Xbox Series.
  • Peak online players: 328,000; sales leaders are the USA, China, and Russia.

The analytical service Alinea Analytics published the figures for the launch sales of the new action RPG Mortal Shell II, developed by Cold Symmetry. Since its release, the game has managed to sell 510,000 copies, generating over 23 million US dollars for the publishers.

The majority of buyers are PC users. According to analysts, 57.6% of all sold copies were on the PC platform, primarily through the Steam service. The console segment was led by PlayStation 5, which accounted for 33.8% of sales, while Xbox Series X|S only provided 8.6% of the total volume.

Online activity and geography

The peak number of concurrent players in Mortal Shell II reached 328,000, according to statistics collected by August 23. The highest sales volumes were observed in the USA, China, and Russia, reflecting global interest in the project.

The game is available on three main platforms — PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series — and features full Russian localization, including text translation and subtitles. This allows for a wide audience reach, including Russian-speaking players, despite current geopolitical restrictions.

Cold Symmetry, known for its first project Mortal Shell, positions the sequel as larger in scale and technically advanced. The developers promised an improved combat system, a more open world, and expanded character customization options. Expectations from critics and players were high, and the initial sales figures confirm interest in the continuation of the series.

Experts note that the figures of 510,000 copies sold in the first days are a good result for a niche project not belonging to major publishers. At the same time, the revenue of 23 million dollars indicates stable monetization, considering the average game price around 45–50 dollars.

In the future, analysts will monitor sales dynamics, especially in regions where the game has already shown strong positions. It is expected that further promotion, including seasonal updates and additional DLC, may increase overall figures and strengthen Mortal Shell II's position in the market.
