Ubisoft officially announced that the release of Rayman Legends Retold will be postponed to December 3, 2024. The game was originally set to launch on October 1st, but the developers decided that additional time would allow them to elevate the project to a higher level of quality.

What is Rayman Legends Retold

Retold is a reimagining of the original Rayman Legends, released in 2013. The new version retains the classic platform levels but adds new visual solutions, improved graphics, and a number of gameplay innovations.

Among the innovations are a sixth world, four new musical levels, dragon races, and the Cave of Trials. The musical stages require actions to be performed in time with the composition, enhancing interaction with the soundtrack.

The game supports single-player mode and local co-op on one device for four players. The 'Kung-fu' mode returns with improved controls, new power-ups, and the ability to change competition rules.

Soundtrack and additional materials

The package also includes Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition – an updated version of the first project in the series with 4K support, new collectibles, rewards, and additional features.

Platforms and Localization

Rayman Legends Retold will be available on PC via Steam, as well as on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch consoles. A text translation is provided for Russian-speaking players.

The release date delay is explained by Ubisoft's desire to ensure a more thorough polish of the product, which is especially important for remasters where player expectations are high. Some fans have questioned the need for a remake, considering that the original game already has excellent graphics and gameplay, but the developers assure that the new elements and improvements justify the project.

Thus, the delay provides the team with additional time to refine the visual and audiovisual aspects, as well as to test local co-op and new modes, so that the release meets the high quality standards expected from Ubisoft.
