Developers from Naughty Dog have officially announced the completion of one of the key stages of production for their new sci-fi action game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. This was reported on their official social media, where a photo of actress Tati Gabrielle, who plays the lead role, was attached to the post.
Plot and characters
The game will tell the story of Jordan A. Mann — an experienced bounty hunter who, during one of her missions, finds herself trapped on the remote planet Simperia. According to the plot, the heroine will have to use her entire arsenal of skills to survive in extreme conditions and become the first person in six centuries to manage to leave the orbit of this planet.
Tati Gabrielle, known for her roles in series and films, will embody Jordan, which promises to add depth and emotional resonance to the character. While plot details remain shrouded in mystery, the developers emphasize that the game will combine dynamic combat scenes with survival elements.
Technical details
According to the studio's statement, the motion capture process, which includes recording real actors' movements and subsequently transferring them into a digital form, has been successfully completed. This allows for high expectations of realism in animations and smooth gameplay interactions.
The only announced receiving platform so far is PlayStation 5, however, the developers hint that the project will be adapted for the next generation of Sony consoles and will likely have cross-generation compatibility.
Official release dates have not yet been announced, and the release date remains unknown. Nevertheless, speculation is already brewing in the industry that the game could become one of the most anticipated new releases of the current generation.
In an interview for the project's release, studio head Neil Druckmann reacted to past experiences with The Last of Us Part II, noting that the audience's reaction was mixed. According to him, the team jokes about the idea that 'maybe we should create a game that people will worry less about — a game about faith and religion.' These words suggest that Intergalactic may explore themes related to the characters' spiritual quests.
Expectations for the project are high: many gamers and analysts consider it a potential flagship for PlayStation 5, capable of setting new standards in the sci-fi action genre.
