- The full version will contain 40-60 hours of content with support for Russian localization
Independent Spanish developer Epictellers Entertainment has presented a demo of Starfinder: Afterlight — the studio's debut project, based on the second edition of the popular tabletop role-playing game Starfinder. This is the first computer role-playing game in this setting, adapting the mechanics and universe of the space fantasy franchise.
The current demo provides the opportunity to complete a linear segment of the prologue and familiarize yourself with the main gameplay elements. However, the authors clarify that upon launch in early access, the prologue will have a significantly more complex structure with multiple branches and paths. The demo version lacks a character editor and character progression system, which will appear in the full version. Currently, the demo is only available in English, although the final project will support Russian localization of the text.
Results of the closed testing
This is not Epictellers Entertainment's first contact with potential players. Six months ago, the studio conducted closed testing for the sponsors of its Kickstarter campaign. During this time, the developers have carried out extensive work on optimizing and improving almost all components of the project. Improvements have been made to the interface, camera control system, combat mechanics, and other key gameplay elements based on tester feedback.
Release schedule and content volume
Starfinder: Afterlight will enter early access on Steam before the end of the current year. In the early access phase, players will receive the first act of the story, designed for approximately 10-15 hours of main gameplay. The developers plan to gradually expand the content during the early versions. The full version of the game is estimated to offer 40-60 hours of gameplay, allowing players to deeply immerse themselves in the Starfinder space setting.
This project is of significant interest to fans of the CRPG genre and enthusiasts of the original tabletop system. Adapting a well-established mechanic into a digital format with its own narrative and visual style can attract both experienced role-players and newcomers to the genre.
