The international gaming exhibition gamescom 2026 is preparing to open its doors in Cologne, and the traditional starting point will be the online ceremony Opening Night Live (ONL). Over two hours of streaming, the organizers plan to showcase new trailers, announce release dates, and present exclusive demos, making the event a must-attend for all gamers.
Broadcast schedule
The exact start time of ONL is August 25 at 20:15 Moscow time. The pre-show will begin at 20:30, and the main part of the program will start at 21:00. The stream will be available on YouTube and Twitch, and the event will last approximately two hours.
One of the confirmed participants of the ceremony will be 'Alien: Isolation 2' from Creative Assembly. The game will be showcased at the Xbox booth, where visitors will be able to try out the prologue of the sequel. This is the first official announcement of the project after its absence at last year's Summer Game Fest.
There are active discussions online about the rumors of a 'sudden sequel' to one of the Xbox franchises. According to several insiders, it is not about a continuation of Banjo-Kazooie, but it could be the third part of Ori. However, Thomas Mahler from Moon Studios has denied these speculations, stating that there are currently no official plans.
Atlus plans to dedicate part of the Xbox program to the game Persona 4 Revival, as well as hint at work on the long-awaited Persona 6. Both projects are expected to receive separate videos showcasing gameplay and new features.
Among other potential announcements that may appear at ONL, DLC for Resident Evil Requiem, the third part of Star Wars Jedi, Forza Horizon 6 with a release date on PlayStation 5, and a continuation of Control – Control Resonant are mentioned. These projects are already in the industry's spotlight and may receive official confirmations.
The editorial team at StopGame.ru is also preparing for the live broadcast of Opening Night Live and invites subscribers to follow the schedule. At the end of the program, there is a plan to mention the actress who voiced the character Grace in Resident Evil Requiem, which has already been reported in previous materials.
