In brief
  • Valor Mortis will be released on October 13 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series.
  • The standard edition costs $39.99, Deluxe – $59.99.
  • There will be no pre-orders; the game will be available immediately after release.
  • Deluxe includes paid DLC and future updates.

Less than a month remains until the official release of the long-awaited soulslike Valor Mortis. Developers One More Level, together with publisher Lyrical Games, announced the exact dates and prices that will be in effect at the launch of the project.

The teams noted that the 20-hour adventure with high graphics quality and well-developed gameplay is capable of competing with more expensive releases. However, considering the autumn demand and players' limited budgets, they decided to set the price of the standard edition at $39.99 (or €39.99).

A feature of the sales strategy will be the absence of pre-orders – the game will be available immediately after release. This decision, according to the publishers, is aimed at allowing buyers to evaluate the product without the pressure of early purchases.

For those seeking a more immersive experience, a Deluxe Edition will be offered at a price of $59.99 (€59.99). It will include paid DLC as well as promised series of updates that will expand the game's capabilities and add new ways to play.

Valor Mortis is scheduled for release on October 13 and will be available on three major platforms: personal computer via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The developers have confirmed the presence of a full Russian text translation, which will make the game more accessible to the Russian-speaking audience.

Context and Expectations

The soulslike genre has gained popularity in recent years, and high-quality projects are often rated by consumers in the range of $50 to $70. The choice of a $40 price for the base version of Valor Mortis reflects the developers' desire to attract a wide audience, while also considering the rising expenses of players during the fall season.

Considering that the game promises to combine the classic 'dark' style of soulslike games with original mechanics, as well as support for post-release content, its release could become a significant event in the autumn gaming calendar.
