Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse – new gameplay trailer reveals combat bosses and equipment system

- Konami and Evil Empire have released a gameplay trailer for Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse.
- The main character, Rose, uses the whip 'Vampire Killer' and seven categories of weapons.
- The bosses Death, Medusa, and Carmilla become Tarot cards that unlock new spells.
- The game will be released on October 15 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch.
Publisher Konami, in collaboration with Evil Empire studio, has presented another video showcasing the gameplay of Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse. The trailer reveals the visual style of the project, as well as the key mechanics that distinguish the game from previous installments in the series.
The main character and combat weapon
At the center of the story is a young huntress named Rose, armed with the legendary whip 'Vampire Killer'. This tool serves not only for battles with monsters but also for exploring the world: it can activate hidden mechanisms, open new paths, and interact with environmental objects.
The developers promise a vast arsenal: weapons will be divided into seven categories, each with unique characteristics. Additionally, the game will feature relics – special items that enhance both the defensive and offensive abilities of Rose, allowing players to adapt their play style to their preferences.
Bosses and the Tarot System
The trailer introduces viewers to a number of bosses, including classic enemies from the series: Death, Medusa, and Carmilla. After defeating the opponents, their souls become trapped in Tarot cards. This is not just a visual device: the captured cards unlock new spells and special actions for Rose, expanding her tactical options.
This approach to progression is reminiscent of the early parts of Castlevania, where defeating bosses granted access to new abilities, but the integration of Tarot cards adds an element of strategy and collecting.
Release date and platforms
It has been officially announced that Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse will be released on October 15. The game will be available on personal computers via Steam and Microsoft Store, as well as on next-generation consoles – PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and both versions of Nintendo Switch. A text translation is provided for the Russian-speaking audience.
Interesting fact: in the previous game of the series, Castlevania 64, there was also a character named Rosa, which may be a reference to the new project and evoke nostalgia among veterans of the series.
Thus, Belmont’s Curse combines a familiar gothic atmosphere, an expanded equipment system, and an innovative approach to character development, promising an exciting experience for both long-time fans of the series and new players.
