Genshin Impact 7.0 — Snowy, new characters Odette and Alyosha, firearms

With each major update, Genshin Impact players gain access to a new region of Teyvat. In version 7.0, titled 'Relentless Frost', travelers will be able to explore Snowy for the first time - a territory under the control of the Cryo Archon. The region is covered in constant blizzards, and its inhabitants use Crystalis crystals for heating and production.

New Characters

Among the new additions is Odette, a member of the Fatui organization, known as the Snowy Ballerina. In battle, she transforms her abilities 'Superconductor' and 'Cryo Dissipation' into 'Star Conductor' and 'Star Dissipation', enhancing the damage from the 'Starshine' reactions for the entire team. Her elemental skill creates a 'Reflection' field that deals periodic cryo damage and provides a bonus to reactions. Odette's elemental burst deals several waves of cryo damage and further enhances 'Starshine'. When idle, the character can rehearse a dance, allowing the player to activate her skill multiple times for a spectacular performance.

The second new character is Alyosha, a hunter from Snowy, accompanied by the dog Tugarin. His passive bonuses increase the damage from the 'Star Conductor' reaction and restore health to nearby allies. Outside of combat, Alyosha's exploration talent marks rare Snowy objects on the map, and the character can join the party as part of a new Archon quest.

Weapons and shooting mechanics

The update introduces firearms into the game. The banner will feature 'signature' versions of Odette and other five-star characters, as well as the one-handed sword 'Frost Feather of the White Lake' with an increased critical damage chance. Additionally, five new forged items will appear in Snowy, which blacksmiths will be able to create in local workshops.

To navigate the new region, the developers have prepared a railway network. Trains connect small settlements, such as the village of Sea Sand, with the administrative center of Snowy City. The Fatui headquarters and the weapons factory are located in the fortress of Glupov, which simplifies access to new quests and materials.

You can explore Snowy through the laboratory of Dottore, located between Nod-Crime and the new region. Players who have not managed to complete the Nod-Crime content will be able to use automatically appearing teleportation points immediately after the release.

Beyond the settlements, players are greeted by new endemics: glaciers, polar bears, 'wolf-dogs' that use their tails as fishing gear, and an academically dressed house spirit. These creatures expand the biome's diversity and add new resource gathering opportunities.

Update 7.0 continues the tradition of Genshin Impact, combining narrative novellas, new gameplay mechanics, and world expansion. The introduction of firearms and the 'Starshine' reactions is expected to change battle tactics, while Snowy will provide players with new locations, quests, and a cultural flavor reflecting the resilience of northern peoples.
