- Amazon is offering a '3 for 2' promotion on books
- The promotion features Sanderson's new novel 'Blightfall'
- For audiophiles, an Audible subscription is available for $0.99
- Riftwake opens a new branch of the Cytoverse universe
Ahead of the Prime Big Deal Days sale, online retailer Amazon has once again offered customers the popular '3 for 2' promotion. The campaign includes a wide range of books, among which special attention is drawn to the latest work by the famous science fiction author Brandon Sanderson – the novel 'Blightfall'.
What is 'Blightfall'
'Blightfall' is the first book in the new Riftwake series, which officially expands the Cytoverse universe. This universe was launched with the 'Skyward' series, aimed at the youth segment and built around the theme of teenagers forced to make leadership decisions in a post-war world. According to Sanderson, he aimed to make the plot more accessible to young readers, yet the themes remain deep and touch on issues of war and responsibility.
Terms of the '3 for 2' promotion
'Blightfall' itself costs less than two dollars, so the benefit of the promotion only becomes apparent when purchasing two more books. As part of the current offer, the recommended add-ons include works from the Cosmere universe – another major series by Sanderson that is also included in the discount. Thus, readers can assemble a set of three books, paying only for two, making the offer attractive to the author's fans.
It is important to note that it is not necessary to read 'Skyward' or other Cytoverse books beforehand to get acquainted with 'Blightfall'. Like with Cosmere, the new series is positioned as a standalone entry into the world, rather than a continuation of an already familiar story. Nevertheless, Sanderson advises paying attention to 'Skyward', noting it as a quality original science fiction work that is already in development as a television series.
Audiobook and additional offers
For audio format lovers, Amazon offers a separate promotion through the Audible service: the first few months of subscription are available for $0.99, with one free audiobook and a $20 credit provided each month that can be spent on any book. In the audiobook version of 'Blightfall', narrators Suzy Jackson and Eddie Lopez, known for their work on 'Skyward', collaborate.
In addition, other book sales continue on the platform, including a promotion for the novel "Dungeon Crawler Carl," which expands the options for readers looking for great deals.
