Detectives of the NABU detained the current people's deputy from the "Servant of the People" party, Sergey Kuzmykhin, who had been ignoring court hearings for years.
In 2022, the MP was already detained for receiving a bribe, and he was also charged with abuse of influence.
The detention was carried out in accordance with the ruling of the High Anti-Corruption Court due to the systematic failure of the accused to appear at court hearings.
The people's deputy repeatedly failed to appear at court hearings for almost 4 years, justifying this by foreign business trips.
The consideration of the prosecutor's motion to change the preventive measure for Kuzmykhin to detention is scheduled for June 29, 2026.
