Ukraine honors the memory

Ukraine honors the memory of fallen military and civilians. A moment of silence takes place daily at 9:00. This ritual was established by President Volodymyr Zelensky after the bombing of the Mariupol Drama Theater in March 2022.

The study showed that most negative comments about the moment of silence come from Russians. They are trying to create an illusion of coercion and conflict within Ukraine.

However, Ukrainians continue to honor the memory of the fallen. According to the study, 68% of respondents observe the moment of silence, and 74% are aware of this tradition.

The moment of silence unites the memory of all those whom Ukraine has lost due to the Russian war. The purpose of this ritual is not to divide the fallen by place or circumstances of death and to remember each and every one.
