Phanteks introduced modular EX5 cases with separate compartments for components

- Phanteks will release three models of the EX5 cases with separate compartments
- The base version costs $109.99, the liquid cooling version is $159.99
- The flagship EX5 Max with a display will be available for $229.99
- Support for ATX motherboards, graphics cards up to 358 mm, and a 360 mm radiator
Phantom has introduced a series of computer cases EX5, built on the principle of functional modularity. The main feature of the new models is the division of the internal space into separate compartments for key components: the motherboard, graphics card, and power supply. This approach to case design allows for optimized airflow and easier cable management.
The trend for modular designs was set by Thermaltake back in 2009 with the introduction of the iconic Level 10 case, which was put into mass production two years later. Since then, this architecture has been reimagined by various manufacturers multiple times, but it has remained a niche solution for enthusiasts.
Three modifications for different requirements
The EX5 series offers three execution options. The base model EX5 is aimed at users who value maximum flexibility in configuring the cooling system. This case comes with one pre-installed fan on the rear panel, allowing the builder to choose a cooling solution according to their needs.
The EX5 Plus version includes a built-in Glacier One 360S25-SE AIO liquid cooling system with hidden tubes. This solution provides an aesthetically pleasing assembly while minimizing visible cable routing. The cooling unit uses a unified S25 ARGB fan module with a single frame and one connection cable, simplifying installation.
The flagship model EX5 Max is also equipped with the Glacier One 360S25-SE AIO, but additionally features a high-resolution six-channel display. The screen displays system parameters in real-time — temperatures, fan speeds, component loads. Furthermore, the display supports the rendering of custom graphics.
Technical specifications and component support
The dimensions of all three models are identical: 449 × 234 × 474 millimeters. The cases are compatible with standard form factor motherboards — ATX, Micro-ATX, and Mini-ITX. The design provides for four expansion slots for expansion cards and paired combined connectors for mounting two-inch and three-inch data drives.
Regarding the maximum sizes of supported components: air cooling coolers up to 72 millimeters in height, graphics cards up to 358 millimeters in length and up to 175 millimeters in height, power supplies up to 210 millimeters in length. A standard size 360 millimeter liquid cooling radiator can be installed on the internal side panel.
The front panel is equipped with a pair of USB 3.0 ports, one USB-C 3.2 Gen2x2 port, a 3.5 millimeter audio output, and power/reset buttons. All cases are produced exclusively in black color.
Pricing
The base version EX5 is priced at $109.99 (€109.90). The EX5 Plus model with an integrated liquid cooling system costs $159.99 (€159.90). The premium EX5 Max variant with liquid cooling and a display will be priced at $229.99 (€229.90). The Glacier One 360S25-SE AIO cooling system will be available separately for $79.99 (€79.90).
