The Women's European Championship 2026 continues from August 21 to September 6. The tournament is being held simultaneously in four countries — Azerbaijan, Turkey, Sweden, and the Czech Republic. Currently, the reigning champion is the Turkish team, which will defend its title in the upcoming matches.

Yesterday, on August 25, another round took place at the tournament venues, featuring eight pairs of teams. All matches ended in favor of one side, with most victories achieved in three sets, indicating high competition in the group.

Match results

• Romania — Belgium — 0:3 (21:25, 20:25, 17:25)
• Hungary — Germany — 0:3 (17:25, 21:25, 14:25)
• Greece — Austria — 3:1 (20:25, 25:18, 25:12, 25:14)
• Italy — Slovakia — 3:0 (25:19, 25:18, 25:20)

• Netherlands — Spain — 3:0 (25:13, 25:11, 25:16)
• Poland — Slovenia — 3:0 (25:14, 28:26, 25:18)
• Czech Republic — Ukraine — 3:1 (25:17, 21:25, 25:19, 25:21)
• Sweden — Croatia — 3:2 (16:25, 22:25, 25:19, 25:16, 23:21)

Among the winners, special attention was drawn to Belgium, Germany, and Italy, who won three sets without losing any. Greece managed to recover after losing the first set and confidently took the next three, while the Czech Republic secured victory over Ukraine despite losing the second set.

Sweden and Croatia delivered one of the most dramatic matches of the day – the match stretched to the fifth set, where the Swedes ultimately won with a score of 23:21. This tension highlights the growing level of competition in the group.

Current results influence the formation of group tables: teams that have won without losses strengthen their positions in the qualifiers for the final round, while those that have lost, such as Romania and Hungary, will find themselves in a more difficult position to advance to the next phase.

In the coming days, new meetings are scheduled, where it will be decided which teams will maintain their chances of reaching the playoffs and which will be forced to fight for a place in the qualifying matches. Fans can expect a continuation of the fierce competition and new sports stories.
