Multnomah Falls

Multnomah Falls is located in the state of Oregon, east of the city of Troutdale, USA, in the Columbia River Gorge. The depth of the gorge sometimes reaches 1200 meters and extends over a distance of more than 130 km across the Cascade Mountains. The Columbia River serves as the only navigable route through the Cascade Mountains. The Columbia River Gorge is known for its high concentration of waterfalls, with more than 90 located in the state of Oregon alone. Some of them are the most visited in Oregon due to their proximity to the large city of Portland.

The calm water flow descends in two stages: the first begins at a height of 165 m, after which, flowing a few meters downstream, the column of water again plunges off the rocks this time at a height of 21 meters. The difference between the two heights is 3 meters.

Multnomah Falls, being the highest in the state of Oregon, is one of the two waterfalls in the USA that never freeze, allowing visitors to enjoy its beauty year-round. The underground springs flowing beneath Larch Mountain are a year-round 'supplier' of water for the falls, supplemented by spring meltwater from the cliffs and rainwater during other seasons.

The abundance of roads leading to the site allows travelers from all over the USA and visitors to the country to reach Multnomah Falls to enjoy the amazing spectacle. Tourists ascend to a height of 32 m and observe the soothing waterfall from a small 14-meter bridge.
