Mini Metro proves that a complex game doesn't need any textures. On the screen is a clean metro map styled like the London Underground: circles, triangles, and squares instead of stations, colorful straight lines instead of tunnels. The task is simple in words — connect the stations so that the passenger figures reach their corresponding shapes. Then the city grows on its own: new stations appear in random places, crowds accumulate on platforms, and as soon as one station's queue overflows, everything ends. Resources are always scarce — once a week you receive a carriage, a bridge, or a new line, and the choice between them is the entire strategy. It plays like a puzzle about throughput, and feels almost meditative: the sound is generated by the network itself, each train adds a note, and the sprawling city literally plays music. Real city maps make the games recognizable.
