Apple has filed a lawsuit in federal court in California against OpenAI and two of its employees, accusing the ChatGPT developer of systematically stealing confidential information and hardware project details.

The lawsuit claims that OpenAI used current and former Apple employees to steal blueprints and other confidential information.

An OpenAI representative stated that the company is not interested in the trade secrets of other companies and is focused on creating innovative technologies.

Apple began an internal investigation in February and warned OpenAI about a leak of trade secrets, but did not receive a response.

One of the defendants is OpenAI's hardware department head Tan Tan, who left Apple in early 2024 and is accused of transferring confidential information to OpenAI.
