The UK introduces new rules for refugees

- The UK introduces new rules for refugees
- Refugees must reimburse the state for costs
- The provision does not apply to Ukrainians
The UK will require some refugees to reimburse the state for the costs incurred during the consideration of their asylum applications.
This provision is included in the Immigration and Asylum Bill and gives the Home Office the right to recover money from adults who received housing or food allowances.
The expected amount of compensation is around 10,000 pounds sterling.
It is worth noting that this regulation does not apply to Ukrainians in the UK under special programs – Homes for Ukraine, Ukraine Family Scheme, and Ukraine Extension Scheme.
In the UK, the network of hotels for the temporary accommodation of refugees continues to be reduced, and some residents are being moved to simpler housing.
