In the fourth round of the French Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain achieved their first victory of the season, beating Brest 1-0. The only goal in the match was scored by Spanish forward Ferran Torres, who in addition to his performance, provided an interview after the final whistle.
Torres, who joined PSG this season from Valencia, noted that the goal was a personal confirmation of the right path he chose. "I am glad that I was able to help the team in the first match when we really needed a win. This is a good start, but we have a lot of work ahead," he said.
The coaching staff of PSG also expressed satisfaction with the result. After several draws at the beginning of the campaign, the victory over Brest allowed the club to take the lead in the league table, earning three points and improving their position compared to their rivals.
Match context
For PSG, this victory is important not only in terms of points but also as an indicator of the team's readiness for the upcoming league and European matches. The club, led by Martin Tiepa, aims to strengthen its position in Ligue 1 after several seasons where competitors like Lyon and Marseille challenged for the title.
After the match, Ferran Torres emphasized that the team spirit at PSG is at a high level. 'We are working to make every match an opportunity for us to showcase our best game. Today we did that, and I am confident that such results will become a habit,' he added.
Experts note that the presence of experienced players in PSG's attack, such as Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, combined with new faces including Torres, creates a strong potential for further dominance in the league. Upcoming matches against Lille and Monaco will be a test of the strength of this combination.
